Josh McGuire Readies for 'Glockner 50' at K-C on Saturday Night!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) For the first time since "Speedweeks 2008" in Florida, Josh McGuire took to the track again on Saturday night, April 5 at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The annual 'Spring 50' was on tap at Florence last weekend and a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs in the one day show. It was a rollercoaster night for the #41 team, as Josh was leading his heat race before suffering a flat tire, but then won the B-Main from the tail to advance to the 50-lap feature event.

After rolling off twenty-second on the grid for the 'Spring 50,' Josh had advanced up inside of the top ten prior to suffering a broken power steering line. He was forced to retire prematurely from the event and wound up twenty-first in the final rundown. You can view complete results from Florence online at www.florencespeedway.com!

"I feel like we had a possible win taken away from us by virtue of all of the mechanical troubles," commented McGuire earlier in the week. "That car was the best car I have ever had at Florence, but we just couldn't make it to the end of the race. I was leading the heat race by a straightaway before suffering the flat tire. Then I was up to sixth in the feature from the tail before breaking the power steering line. Hopefully, our luck will start to turn around this weekend at K-C!"

The Josh McGuire Racing team has one lone event on their upcoming weekend schedule, as the #41 team will trek to the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday night, April 12 for the 'Glockner 50.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the $10,000 to win event on Saturday and the cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for broadcast later in the year.
