Josh McGuire Readies for Skyline and Richmond Following Rough Weekend…
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 Dirt Late Model team traveled to Ohio and West Virginia for a pair of events to close out their busy month of April. On Friday night, April 25, the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio played host to a $2,000 to win show. Josh qualified well and ran fifth in the dash to earn the inside third row starting spot for the 30-lap feature event. Unfortunately for the Grayson, Kentucky native, he had to retire early from the race, as a spark plug wire malfunctioned on his #41 C.J. Rayburn entry leading to a seventeenth place performance.
On Saturday evening, April 26, the action switched to the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia. The annual 'Topless 50' took place at the bullring and a $4,000 top prize was up for grabs. Josh qualified twelfth fastest in time trials and later ran third in his competitive heat race. After charging up to the eighth spot in the 'Topless 50,' Josh's night ended prematurely after a bout with the unforgiving wall. He wound up being credited with a fourteenth place effort following the 50-lap affair. You can view complete results from both races online at www.rockytopraceway.net and www.tylercountyspeedway.net!
The Josh McGuire Racing team will look to rebound from the disappointment last weekend in a pair of races on May 2 and 3. The Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio will play host to a regular weekly show on Friday night, May 2. The action will then turn to the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky on Saturday evening, May 3. The O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series will sanction a $3,000 to win event on Saturday at Richmond.
