Josh McGuire Racing Looks Ahead to Skyline and Lake Cumberland this Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 Dirt Late Model team traveled to both the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio and the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky over the May 7-8 Mother's Day weekend. On Friday night at Rocky Top, a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs in an unsanctioned event. Josh laid down the quickest lap during qualifying at RTR, but later suffered problems in his heat race. After starting at the tail of the field in the B-Main, Josh stormed past multiple competitors to grab the second and final transfer spot into the 50-lap main event. After starting last in the 'Les Boggs 50,' the Grayson, Kentucky native was making a charge through the field before once again running into trouble, which relegated him to a fourteenth place performance.

At 201 on Saturday evening, a $3,000 winner's check was on the line in another unsanctioned show. Josh once again earned Fast Time honors following qualifying and later won his heat race. After leading the first fourteen circuits in the A-Main, Josh wound up a solid third in the final rundown behind winner Eddie Carrier, Jr. and runner-up Zach Dohm. Complete results from both weekend races can be found online at www.rockytopraceway.net and www.race201.com.

Pending weather, the Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team will race next this Friday night, May 14 at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio. Following the $1,500 to win regular weekly show at Skyline, the #41 team will turn their focus to the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday evening, May 15. The NASRA Series will roll into Lake Cumberland on Saturday to sanction a $3,000 to win program. Additional information on both events can be accessed at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.lcspeedway.net.
