Josh McGuire Heads to Rocky Top and 201 Following Strong Weekend!
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 team closed out the busy month of May with a pair of Dirt Late Model events in Ohio and Kentucky! On Friday night, May 29, the Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio played host to a $2,500 to win unsanctioned show. Josh laid down the fourth quickest lap during qualifying and later won the dash to earn the pole position for the A-Main. The Grayson, Kentucky driver sported a strong racecar in the main event and wound up third in the final rundown behind winner Steve Casebolt and runner-up Wayne Chinn.
The Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky was up next for the Josh McGuire Racing team on Saturday evening, May 30. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the annual running of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial' and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Josh grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his competitive heat race and later started sixteenth on the grid in the 50-lap feature. He lived up to his nickname and was "Bad Fast" during the main event, as he passed seven competitors en route to a solid ninth place performance on the slippery 1/2-mile, high-banked oval. Josh currently sits tenth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following Florence. You can view complete results online at www.dirtondirt.com.
The JMR team will now turn their focus to two other tracks in Ohio and Kentucky for this upcoming weekend. The Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio will host a $1,500 to win regular weekly show on Friday, June 5, while the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky will be the track of choice on Saturday, June 6 for a $3,000 to win O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series event.
