Josh McGuire Sweeps Skyline and 201; Gears Up for Busy Southern Swing

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team took advantage of a rare weekend off from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule to race around home and the decision paid off to the tune of two convincing victories! Josh McGuire recorded his first two wins of the 2009 racing season at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio (June 5) and the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky (June 6). On Friday night at Skyline, Josh laid down the quickest lap during qualifying and later won his heat race. The Grayson, Kentucky hotshoe then led each and every circuit in the main event to score the $1,500 top prize.

A similar story was told on Saturday evening at 201. Even with the cars and stars of the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series on hand, Josh was still able to sweep the night's racing activities. He set fast time in qualifying, won his heat race, and led all forty laps of the $3,000 to win feature event. Josh reached victory lane at 201 ahead of Victor Lee, Chris Combs, Terry Hicks, and Paul Harris. You can view complete results from both venues online at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.race201.com.

"When you head out of the shop for the weekend, you always hope things will go as well as they did at Skyline and 201," exclaimed McGuire earlier this week. "We qualified well and ran great in the feature both nights. I really wanted to go to Eldora for the Dream 100, but I think we made the right business decision. We would have had to finish in the top five at Eldora to make more money than we wound up making last weekend. Hopefully, these two wins will give us a little momentum heading into a very busy southern swing!"

Josh and the rest of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors will return to action over the next couple of weeks in the states of Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina. In all, Josh will enter seven Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows from June 11-20. He comes into the busy southern swing tenth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Josh's upcoming schedule is shown below:

June 11 | Duck River (TN) Speedway, Lucas Oil | $7,000 to win
