Josh McGuire Eyes North/South 100 Tune-Up Following $10,500 Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team had an exceptional weekend on July 15-16, as they swept a pair of high-profile Dirt Late Model events to claim $10,500 in earnings! On Friday night, the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio played host to the 3rd Annual 'Jack Shutts Memorial.' Josh McGuire ran second in his heat race, but later took the lead on lap sixteen of the 40-lap feature event. The Grayson, Kentucky native led the remainder of the distance to record the $3,000 payday over Jason Montgomery, Chris Carpenter, Chris Garnes, and Rod Conley!

A day later, the #41 team found themselves in the pit area at the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky for the 24th Annual 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial .' Josh laid down the quickest lap during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led flag-to-flag in the 50-lap main event. The driver known as "Bad Fast" was indeed bad fast in beating Dustin Neat, Duane Chamberlain, Greg Johnson, and Joey Daniel to the checkers to score the $7,500 top prize! Complete results from both unsanctioned races can be viewed by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.

"What a weekend for the Josh McGuire Racing team," exclaimed McGuire this week from his race shop. "We have had some dumb luck here and there all year long, but we finally put things together at Skyline and Richmond last weekend. Our MasterSbilt car was fast both nights and hopefully we can keep that trend going this Saturday at Florence. I have to thank all of my family, crew, sponsors, and fans for all of their support throughout the season and we'll keep working hard to get some more wins!"

Next up for Josh and the #41 team will be the 'North/South 100' tune-up race this Saturday, July 23 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The unsanctioned event at the 1/2-mile Cincinnati area venue will pay $5,000 to the winner. Josh will be using this show to gear up for the big $50,000 to win 'North/South 100,' which will be held at Florence on August 12-13.
