Josh McGuire Notches Pair of Top Fives in Ohio and Kentucky; Preps for Trip to Florence!
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Grayson, Kentucky native Josh McGuire invaded the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio (August 1) and the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky (August 2) for a pair of Dirt Late Model events last weekend. Josh qualified well and ran sixth in the dash at Rocky Top on Friday night prior to bringing home a solid third place finish in the $2,000 to win A-Main behind winner Jackie Boggs and runner-up Terry Hicks. At 201 on Saturday evening, Josh ran second in his heat race, but later took the lead in the $5,000 to win 'Pops 40' feature event. Unfortunately, he was involved in an incident while leading that sent him to the rear of the field. Josh rebounded from the mishap and rallied to earn a fourth place effort behind winner Brandon Kinzer, Rod Conley, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. You can view complete results from the weekend online at www.rockytopraceway.net and www.race201.com!
Josh and the Tim Hall team are headed to the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky this upcoming weekend for the annual running of the 'North/South 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the prestigious event, which will once again boast a $50,000 payday. Qualifying will take place on Friday night, August 8, while the heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap main event are scheduled for Saturday evening at the King family owned facility.
