Josh McGuire Salvages Weekend with Third Place Finish at Portsmouth

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 team started off their August 7-8 weekend at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the $50,000 to win 'North/South 100' at Florence and 78 cars packed the pit area. Josh's weekend at Florence ended prematurely; however, as he suffered mechanical troubles during the qualifying session on Friday night.

The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team returned to the shop to fix their #41 machine on Saturday morning and later headed to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday evening. An unsanctioned event took place at PRP and a $2,500 top prize was up for grabs. Josh won his heat race in preliminary action and later passed five cars during the A-Main en route to a solid third place performance behind winner Jackie Boggs and runner-up Audie Swartz.
