Josh McGuire Sweeps Skyline and Portsmouth; Looks for More this Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team debuted a new C.J. Rayburn racecar over the August 15-16 weekend and to say that it was fast right out of the box would be a severe understatement. On Friday night, August 15, the #41 team invaded the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio for a $1,500 to win regular weekly show. In the first night for the new car, Josh McGuire swept the racing activity at Skyline, as he set fast time in qualifying, won his heat race, and captured the victory in the A-Main over Larry Bond, Mike Balzano, Corey Conley, and Chris Garnes.

The Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio was up next on Saturday evening, August 16. The annual 'Fred Dillow Memorial' took place at PRP last Saturday and a $3,000 top prize was up for grabs in the unsanctioned race. Josh once again set fast time in qualifying, as he blasted his way around the 1/3-mile venue in a mere 14.33 seconds. After running fourth in the dash, Josh started the A-Main from the outside of the second row. The Grayson, Kentucky driver quickly made his way to the front of the stout field and went two-for-two with the new car, as he reached victory lane ahead of R.J. Conley, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Jackie Boggs, and Kenny Christy. You can view complete results from the big weekend online at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

"Last weekend could not have gone any smoother with the new car," stated McGuire last night via telephone. "It was fast right out of the box and hopefully that continues. There was a good group of cars at both Skyline and Portsmouth last weekend, but the bar gets raised a little higher this coming weekend with the Lucas Oil Series at Lawrenceburg and the World of Outlaws at K-C. Hopefully, we are up to the challenge and I think we will be!"

The #41 team will trek to the newly-reconfigured Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana tonight, August 22. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction a $7,000 to win show at the southern Indiana speedplant. The dirt-slinging action will then quickly turn to the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday, August 23, as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presides over a $10,000 to win event.
