Josh McGuire Wins Harvest 50 at Skyline; Sets Fast Time During 'Jackson 100' Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team recorded their eighth feature win of the 2008 racing season on Sunday night, September 21 at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio! Josh McGuire, who has enjoyed much success at the Buckeye State oval over the past couple of seasons, won his heat race in preliminary action prior to the annual 'Harvest 50.' The Grayson, Kentucky native led early in the A-Main and then found the rubber first later in the race to retake the point. Josh then guided his #41 C.J. Rayburn / GCP Engines ride to the checkers ahead of Steve Shaver, Tim Dohm, Robbie Blair, and Chris Garnes to capture the $5,000 payday!

Earlier in the weekend, the #41 team was in action at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Friday and Saturday, September 19-20. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the annual 'Jackson 100' and the SPEED Channel cameras were on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action from the $20,000 to win show. Josh flexed his muscle at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked venue during qualifying on Friday night, as he topped the stout 58-car field in qualifying. After a convincing heat race triumph on Saturday, Josh rolled off from the inside of the third row for the 100-lap main event. Although the team missed the setup for the 'Jackson 100,' Josh still earned a respectable fifteenth place finish in the mega-event. "We had a terrific weekend outside of the Jackson 100 main event," quoted McGuire earlier in the week. "Skyline was good, we won our heat race and then had an awesome car for the feature. The track actually rubbered-up later than I expected, but when it took rubber, our car really got a lot better. Then at Brownstown, the car was great during qualifying and the heat race. Then I changed one suspension piece prior to the feature and the car acted totally different. Overall though, I was very happy with the weekend and we will turn our sights to Moler and Bulls Gap!"

JMR will look for continued success tonight at the Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, as a $2,000 top prize is up for grabs in an unsanctioned event. On Saturday, September 27, the dirt-slinging action will quickly turn south the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series will sanction the $5,000 to win 'Tennessee Fall Brawl' on Saturday at "The Gap."
