Josh McGuire Preps for Skyline Tomorrow Following Tripleheader Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team invaded the Southeast last weekend for a trio of Dirt Late Model events in North Carolina and Georgia! The tripleheader weekend kicked off on Thursday, October 2 at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina. Josh McGuire set fast time for the annual 'Tarheel 50' and later rolled off from the pole position in the $3,500 to win main event. Unfortunately for the Grayson, Kentucky driver, he was involved in a wreck while running in the second position that relegated him to a disappointing seventeenth place effort.

Next up for the #41 team was a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series races at the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia (October 3) and the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia (October 4). Josh won his B-Main at Rome on Friday to advance into the $10,000 to win feature event, where he ultimately wound up twenty-first in the final rundown.

In the weekend finale at Dixie on Saturday, Josh won his heat race and ran amongst the leaders throughout the $15,000 to win 'Dixie Shootout.' At the end of 50 laps around the historic Atlanta-area venue, he found himself credited with a strong sixth place finish behind winner Shannon Babb, Bart Hartman, Dan Schlieper, Justin Rattliff, and Billy Drake. Both the Rome and the Dixie shows were taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel for viewing over the winter months.
