Josh McGuire Competes in Dirt Track World Championship to Tentatively Close Out Season
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 Dirt Late Model team traveled to the refurbished Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana over the October 17-18 weekend for the 29th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship.' A stout 71 car field converged on Lawrenceburg for the DTWC weekend, as the drivers all had their sights set on the hefty $50,000 payday. Unfortunately, Josh could not find his way into the 100-lap main event after hitting the wall during qualifying and finishing seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main. You can view complete results from Lawrenceburg by accessing www.dirttrackworldchampionship.net.
The DTWC weekend at Lawrenceburg tentatively put an end to the Josh McGuire Racing team's 2009 season. There is an outside chance that Josh may decide to race again this year if the weather and other circumstances allow him to do so. Keep up with the latest schedule plans for the #41 team by pointing your web browser to www.joshmcguireracing.com.
Assuming Josh is finished for the year, the Grayson, Kentucky driver was able to amass seven victories, sixteen Top Five finishes, and twenty-two Top Ten performances during his 2009 campaign. His biggest win ($5,000) came in the annual 'Harvest 50' at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio on October 11 and he also picked up the $3,000 top prize in an O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series show on June 6 at the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. In addition, Josh also made the starting field for several premier events including the 'Show-Me 100,' the 'USA Nationals,' the 'Hillbilly 100,' the 'Jackson 100,' and the 'World Cup Classic.'
